ALL ABOUT THE RAGDOLL CAT
![]()
Check out the Cat Fancy article in the March 2000 issue.
The beauty of the Ragdoll is just one of their many features. Their disposition and personality are what makes them a truly unique cat. They are quiet, playful, docile, affectionate, intelligent, and very loving. They make a wonderful house or apartment cat. Also, they respond to children and other pets with affection. Because they posse a non-fighting instinct, a Ragdoll is strictly a indoor kitty.

They Got The Look
According to the Guineas Book of Pet Records; Ragdolls are
one of the largest domestic cats. Altered adult males average 20-28
pounds and are 3 feet long. Females will weigh about 5-10 pounds less.
Ragdolls are born white and don't obtain their full color until they are
2 years of age. They are slow to mature physically and obtain full maturity
between 3 and 4 years of age. The Ragdoll's fur is rabbit-like, medium long,
never mats, and has little shedding. It requires no routine grooming unlike
other cats. All Ragdolls have beautiful blue eyes. They come in
three recognized patterns: Bi-Color, Colar Point, Mitted. And in four
recognized colors: Chocolate, Seal, Blue, and Lilac. Ragdolls also come in unrecognized
patterns and colors like Flames, Lynxs, and Torties.
Go to cat or kitten pages to meet them in person.
